The Andhra Pradesh government is focused on building a comprehensive ecosystem, beyond incentives, to attract top IT companies to the state.

In a move aimed at strengthening the IT landscape in Andhra Pradesh, the state government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ANSR, a global leader in establishing and managing Global Capability Centres (GCCs).

The agreement, signed by IT Minister Nara Lokesh during his roadshow in Bengaluru, outlines plans for a state-of-the-art innovation campus to be developed in the Madhurawada IT cluster in Visakhapatnam.

The campus is expected to generate over 10,000 jobs over the next five years, contributing to the state’s goal of creating 2 million jobs, with 500,000 in the IT and GCC sectors alone. ANSR will invest in the campus, leveraging its expertise in building GCCs and assisting global companies in tapping into Andhra Pradesh’s rich talent ecosystem.

The campus will feature cutting-edge workspace infrastructure, training facilities, simulation labs, innovation studios, and immersive tech zones, ensuring full time zone coverage and business continuity capabilities.

Minister Lokesh emphasised the state’s vision to transform Visakhapatnam into a business-friendly city and a magnet for top talent. He highlighted the city’s potential, citing Google’s decision to set up its first and largest data centre outside the US in Visakhapatnam.

The state government is developing India’s largest data city in Visakhapatnam with enhanced cloud-computing infrastructure, AI labs, analytics hubs, and computing clusters.

The government is focused on building a comprehensive ecosystem, beyond incentives, to attract top IT companies to Andhra Pradesh. This includes aligning academic curricula with GCC needs and strengthening areas like cloud computing, AI, cybersecurity, and product engineering.

Under the Emerging Cities Framework, the government is also developing smart infrastructure in cities like Amaravati, Tirupati, Anantapur, and Kakinada, and constructing the Bhogapuram International Airport to improve air connectivity.

ANSR CEO Lalit Ahuja expressed confidence in Visakhapatnam’s potential, citing its combination of world-class talent, strong infrastructure, and visionary leadership. The innovation campus will become a preferred destination for leading global enterprises, leveraging ANSR’s deep expertise in building GCCs. With this MoU, Andhra Pradesh is poised to become a hub for IT and GCC growth, driving economic development and job creation in the state.
