Infopark Kochi and GCDA signed an MoU to develop a ₹25,000 crore AI township transforming Kerala into a knowledge economy.

Infopark Kochi has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) to develop an integrated AI township in its third phase of development. The project, which is expected to attract an investment of around ₹25,000 crore, aims to create a world-class hub for artificial intelligence and technology companies.

The project is expected to attract global tech giants and Global Capability Centres (GCCs) of leading companies. The land-pooling model will help to address the difficulty in getting adequate land parcels for future-ready projects.

According to Susanth Kurunthil, CEO of Infopark, and K. Chandran Pillai, Chairman of GCDA, the project will impart a fresh momentum to Kerala’s development journey and transform the state into a knowledge economy. The project is expected to create around two lakh direct jobs and twice that number of indirect jobs.

The project will be developed as an integrated AI township, hosting high-tech companies and sustainable residential areas. It will be implemented through a land-pooling model, where small parcels of land will be pooled with the consent of landowners and consolidated into a larger plot.

Infopark will develop the infrastructure to turn the site into a world-class hub for technology companies. GCDA will identify suitable land for the project, facilitate discussions with landowners, and oversee the reconstitution of the land into developed plots.

The project is expected to create around two lakh direct jobs and twice that number of indirect jobs. The project is expected to attract an investment of around Rs 25,000 crore. The project will help transform Kerala into a knowledge economy.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from Infopark and GCDA. The project is expected to be completed within a year, with GCDA and Infopark jointly submitting a detailed report to the government.
