WEKA Expands India Operations With State-of-the-Art Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru
WEKA, the AI-native data platform company, announced the launch of its India Center of Excellence in Bengaluru, akin to an offshore captive unit or a Global Capability Centre (GCC).
This strategic expansion includes a new state-of-the-art office that will serve as a critical hub for WEKA’s research and development, engineering, customer success, engineering and regional sales teams, enabling global collaboration and innovation from the heart of India’s tech capital.
WEKA is collaborating with leading AI innovators in India, such as AI cloud provider Yotta Data Services, to speed up AI discoveries and research breakthroughs using NeuralMesh—the industry’s only high-performance, software-defined storage system built specifically for AI and accelerated computing workloads, the company said in a release. NeuralMesh powers AI factories and token warehouses, increasing innovation velocity by achieving over 90% GPU utilisation rates and accelerated token throughput, while lowering innovation costs and energy consumption.
WEKA first established operations in India in 2023 to provide next-generation AI infrastructure solutions to AI companies, neocloud service providers, IT-services organisations and enterprises seeking to optimise AI performance alongside cost and energy savings. Now, with the opening of the new Center of Excellence, the company is expanding its commitment to driving regional innovation and accelerated growth.
“India is a global powerhouse for innovation, where forward-thinking organisations are revolutionising industries through breakthrough technology. I’m impressed with the Government’s IndiaAI Mission and proud that WEKA is helping to power Yotta’s groundbreaking Shakti Cloud to provide on-demand GPU access for IndiaAI,” said Liran Zvibel, CEO and co-founder, WEKA.
“Bengaluru has proven to be an excellent choice for our India-based operations, providing WEKA with an exceptional talent pool and proximity to India’s thriving tech sector. We are excited to expand our presence here with our new Center of Excellence and look forward to leveraging this hub to drive greater value for customers across India and the APAC region.”
Harsh Jaitly serves as General Manager of WEKA’s India Center of Excellence, bringing over two decades of experience in leading technology services and customer success at companies such as VMware and Avi Networks.
“Success with AI requires data infrastructure that can scale seamlessly with both today’s requirements and tomorrow’s possibilities while delivering uncompromising performance and efficiency,” said Jaitly.
“Our new India Center of Excellence enables WEKA to provide exceptional support to our global customers in a true follow-the-sun service model while also tapping India’s exceptional engineering talent pool. We look forward to building key partnerships across India’s thriving technology ecosystem to foster world-class AI development.”
