Bengaluru leads India’s GCC market with 487 centres, followed by Hyderabad with 273 and the NCR close behind at 272: report

India has solidified its position as the world’s leading destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), hosting over 53% of the world’s total, according to a recent report by Vestian Research. The country is home to nearly 1,700 GCCs out of an estimated 3,200 globally, with Bengaluru emerging as the hub, accounting for 29% of the national total.

With 487 centres, Bengaluru is the top destination for GCCs in India, followed by Hyderabad with 273 centres and the National Capital Region (NCR) with 272 centres.

The report highlights a growing shift towards Tier-2 cities, with Ahmedabad, Kochi, Coimbatore, Indore, Mohali, Bhubaneswar, and Madurai emerging as new hubs.

India’s GCC market is expected to grow at a compound annual rate of 8%, with over 2,100 GCCs projected to be established in the country by FY28.

IT and ITeS companies account for 49% of all GCCs in India, followed by the BFSI sector with 17%, and healthcare, manufacturing, telecom, and consulting contributing another 19%.

“India’s leading office markets continue to offer a compelling value proposition to GCCs, characterised by competitive costs, a highly skilled workforce, robust infrastructure, progressive policy incentives, and a conducive business environment,” said Shrinivas Rao, FRICS, CEO of Vestian. “However, selecting the right location remains critical to the long-term success of any GCC.”

The company’s GCC Market Entry Index is designed to support companies in making location strategy decisions.

With the right policy push and infrastructure momentum, India’s GCC landscape is expected to continue growing, with Tier-2 cities playing a significant role in the next phase of expansion. The country’s dominance in the GCC space is not just about numbers; it’s about redrawing the urban map and creating new opportunities for growth and innovation.
