Sanofi Healthcare India Pvt. Ltd. (SHIPL) has announced the expansion of its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, with the addition of over 2.7 lakh square metres of state-of-the-art workspace within the existing campus in Hitech City.

The expansion of the GCC will increase capacity to host up to approximately 4,500 employees, up from the earlier projected approximately 2,600, making it one of Sanofi’s largest talent concentrations in the world. It will also position the site among the top three pharma GCCs in India.

Sanofi’s Global Capability Centres are strategic hubs across the globe that give the company a competitive edge in delivering best-in-class enterprise solutions. Supported by a multi-hundred-million investment, the expansion of Sanofi’s Hyderabad GCC marks a significant milestone in its commitment to India’s thriving life sciences ecosystem and exceptional talent pool.

This strategic growth will create a diverse range of roles spanning research and development, digital innovation, data analytics, medical affairs, people services, finance and procurement, and commercial operations – offering exciting career opportunities for professionals at all levels.

The Hyderabad GCC was established in 2019, with operations focused primarily on Medical Services. It has grown exponentially and now provides several best-in-class services to Sanofi’s global functions and affiliates worldwide.

This future-focused global talent hub in Hyderabad is designed to be environmentally sustainable and to foster diversity and inclusion. Sanofi has reimagined the workplace as a hospitality-inspired environment that feels like a home away from home. It promotes collaboration and supports well-being and optimal performance, helping to improve processes, eliminate errors, and enhance efficiencies across the spectrum of research, discovery, manufacturing and supply activities.

Madeleine Roach, EVP, Head of Business Operations, Sanofi, said, “As an R&D-driven, AI-powered biopharma company, we never lose sight of what truly drives each of us – improving people’s lives. India’s exceptional talent pool in digital innovation, AI and data science is instrumental in accelerating our transformation and advancing our mission. We look forward to further expanding our capabilities and impact, and partnering with Telangana as it continues to set new standards in life sciences innovation and global competitiveness.”

Congratulating Sanofi on the occasion, the Chief Minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy, said, “The expansion of Sanofi’s Global Capability Centre in Hyderabad reflects Telangana’s growing stature as a global hub for innovation-driven life sciences. We are proud that leading R&D-focused, AI-powered biopharma companies like Sanofi are choosing Hyderabad to anchor critical global capabilities. This growth strengthens our vision of creating high-skilled employment, accelerating digital and scientific innovation, and positioning Telangana among the world’s leading life sciences ecosystems.”

D. Sridhar Babu, Minister for IT, Industries & Commerce, said while inaugurating the campus, “Sanofi’s expanded GCC underscores Hyderabad’s evolution from a manufacturing base to a strategic innovation and digital powerhouse for global biopharma. With deep capabilities in AI, data analytics, medical affairs and enterprise operations, this centre represents the next generation of value creation in life sciences. Telangana remains committed to providing world-class infrastructure, policy stability and talent ecosystems that enable global companies to scale with confidence.”
