    HCLTech, a leading global technology company, and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly convert cutting-edge research into real-world pilots and scalable solutions for Global Capability Centres (GCCs).

    The collaboration positions HCLTech as a trusted GCC partner for enabling research-led innovation, especially in advanced engineering and deep tech with a strong focus on AI, robotics and next-generation technologies. 

    By combining HCLTech’s comprehensive GCC solutions and IIT Kanpur’s research and startup ecosystem, the partnership enables research-driven innovation that goes beyond traditional talent and services. It helps GCCs accelerate complex research, access niche skills without having to build internal labs and reduce time-to-market.

    Aeries Technology’s GCC Momentum: Raises FY26 Guidance & Strong FY27 Outlook

    Aeries Technology, a global leader in AI-powered business transformation and Global Capability Center (GCC) services, has announced its Q3 FY26 results, showcasing robust performance driven by its GCC business. 

    The company has increased its FY26 adjusted EBITDA guidance and provided a strong FY27 outlook, citing margin expansion, operating leverage, and multi-year GCC momentum.

    Based on performance through the third quarter and continued execution momentum, Aeries is increasing the current full-year fiscal 2026 adjusted EBITDA guidance to a range of $7 million to $8 million, compared to the prior guidance of $6 million to $8 million.

    For fiscal 2027, which runs from April 2026 through March 2027, and based on our current portfolio of signed contracts and active program expansions already underway, Aeries expects revenue in the range of $80 million to $84 million, with an adjusted EBITDA range of $10 million to $12 million.

    “The company delivered another quarter of solid performance driven by strong execution across India and Mexico, increasing adoption of transformation programs, and continued expansion of multi-year GCC engagements. Aeries also generated positive operating cash flow for the third consecutive quarter, reflecting improved operating leverage and cost discipline,” the company said in a statement.

    These results reflect continued progress in building a more predictable and efficient operating model, supported by automation-driven productivity gains, improved delivery utilization, and disciplined execution across client programmes, the statement said.

    The quarter was marked by continued activity across GCC engagements. During the quarter, Aeries continued to advance its automation and AI delivery initiatives and was recognized by industry analysts for its GCC setup and expansion capabilities. Demand from private equity portfolio companies and mid-market enterprises remained strong, contributing to increased client expansions and improved forward visibility.

    To support continued scaling of client programs, Aeries has also strengthened its talent acquisition capabilities through a strategic partnership with a leading global recruitment firm, enhancing its ability to ramp GCC operations efficiently and support accelerated client onboarding across geographies.

    US Insurer The Hartford Opens Hyderabad Tech Centre, Eyes 1,200 Jobs

    US insurance major The Hartford inaugurated its Global Technology Centre in Hyderabad, marking its India debut. The 160,000 sq ft facility in the Financial District will support the company’s tech transformation, focusing on AI, digital innovation, and engineering.

    The centre, expected to scale to 1,200 employees in coming years, will drive advanced digital and AI capabilities globally. It will operate in a start-up-like environment, enabling rapid prototyping and cross-time-zone collaboration with The Hartford’s US tech hubs.

    “This center will be a magnet for talent in India,” said Shekar Pannala, CIO of The Hartford. “We’ll create new digital and AI capabilities, shaping insurance technology’s future.”

    The move follows other global firms like Microsoft and Google, which chose Hyderabad for major tech hubs. “Hyderabad is a landing point for global leaders,” said Telangana I-T Minister D Sridhar Babu, citing McDonald’s, Vanguard, and Marriott International.

    The Hartford’s decision reflects Hyderabad’s engineering talent and ecosystem. “We welcome The Hartford as a partner in digital innovation,” Sridhar Babu added.

    The facility will support the company’s enterprise-wide technology transformation journey, with a strong focus on artificial intelligence (AI), digital innovation and engineering excellence.

    Operating in a start-up-like environment, the centre is designed for “rapid prototyping and seamless cross–time-zone collaboration with the company’s technology hubs in Hartford, Charlotte, Chicago, and Columbus (in the US)”.

    Hyderabad, India – Swiss banking giant UBS has launched a new Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, marking a significant step in strengthening its presence in India. The centre is expected to create nearly 3,000 jobs over the next two years, further solidifying Hyderabad’s position as a global hub for high-value financial technology and operations ¹.

    Telangana IT and Industries Minister Sridhar Babu inaugurated the tech hub, praising the region’s ecosystem for supporting the development of technology and software projects. “Hyderabad has emerged as a preferred location for the world’s most respected financial institutions,” Babu said. “UBS choosing to deepen its presence here reflects the city’s credibility as a global talent and innovation hub.”

    The new GCC will enhance collaboration and further work in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), according to the company. UBS Country Head India Service Company and Group Technology Officer Matthias Schacke emphasized the importance of Hyderabad as a growth location for the company, citing its strong talent pool, supportive policies, and excellent infrastructure.

    “Hyderabad continues to be an important growth location for UBS, thanks to its strong talent pool, supportive policies, and excellent infrastructure,” Schacke said. “We look forward to further expanding our tech capabilities, including AI, while enhancing our operations footprint in the location.”

    The expansion comes after UBS reported plans to reduce its workforce by 10,000 by 2027, although the company declined to confirm the figures. Despite this, UBS posted a net profit attributable to shareholders of $1.2 billion in the fourth quarter of 2025, up 56% from a year earlier

    Andhra Pradesh Aims to Emerge as India’s IT and GCC Hub

    Andhra Pradesh is positioning itself as a major hub for IT and Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in India, with a focus on emerging as the country’s gateway to the East. The state currently operates six seaports, with four new greenfield ports under construction, which are expected to be operational in a couple of years, according to C M Saikanth Varma, CEO of the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (EDB).

    Varma made the announcement at an IT, GCC, Coworking, and IT Infrastructure Investment Promotion Roadshow in Hyderabad, which saw the participation of over 100 CEOs and senior industry leaders. The state government is adopting a cluster-based model to build ecosystems in specific regions, with Visakhapatnam being projected as an IT, GCC, and AI cluster.

    Visakhapatnam’s advantages include excellent social infrastructure, good air connectivity, and a growing talent pool. The city is expected to benefit from the new international airport, which will be operational in five to six months, and its first metro, which will be launched in a few years. The government believes that Visakhapatnam is ready to become the next IT, GCC, and AI capital of the country.

    Google’s announcement of a $15 billion AI data city in Visakhapatnam is a significant boost to the state’s efforts. The project is expected to drive innovation and create new opportunities in the region. Andhra Pradesh’s IT Secretary, Bhaskar Katamneni, highlighted the state’s competitive cost structures, deep talent pool, and infrastructure readiness as key advantages for investors.

    The state government is also focusing on initiatives like ‘Kaushalam’ and collaborating with industry leaders to create a favourable business environment. With its strategic location, infrastructure development, and talent pool, Visakhapatnam is emerging as a preferred destination for GCCs and IT companies

    Heineken, the Dutch multinational brewing company, has appointed Pradeep Gupta as Head of Legal & Compliance for its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad. Gupta brings nearly two decades of experience in legal, compliance, corporate secretarial, privacy, employment laws, and governance.

    As Head of Legal & Compliance, Gupta will lead the Legal, Compliance, Corporate Secretarial, Privacy, and Risk Management functions at HEINEKEN GCC, focusing on enabling business growth while ensuring regulatory adherence and strengthening risk management structures. He joins Heineken from DBS Bank, where he served as Company Secretary and Head – Legal & Compliance at DBS Tech India.

    Gupta’s extensive experience includes overseeing corporate governance, regulatory compliance, ethics, investigations, data privacy, and enterprise risk management. He also spearheaded large-scale compliance initiatives, including anti-fraud policies and internal investigations.

    Pradeep Gupta is a qualified Company Secretary (ICSI) and holds an LL.B. from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi. He has completed a PG Diploma in Cyber Laws from NALSAR University and is a DSCI Certified Privacy Lead Assessor (DCPLA). Gupta has also undertaken leadership programs from IIM Ahmedabad ¹.
